You have to already have Windows Vista or XP installed on you computer to use the upgrade version. You need the full version if you have an older version of Windows or something else like Ubuntu.
You can get round this if you are happy to mess with the registry see: http://www.downloadsquad.com/2009/10/23/save-80-on-your-windows-7-purchase-the-upgrade-does-full-inst/
Hope that helps
If you have an upgrade version you have to have one of the previous versions too. Without it upgrade will not install on your computer. Full version means that you don't have to have preinstalled older version of photoshop.

Upgrade implies that you have to have a copy of Vista home premium in order to install upgrade. Full version is comprehensive and does not require you to have any OS in advance.
The free upgrade to Windows 10 typically refers to the upgrade from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, and it can include both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, depending on the version you are upgrading from. If you are running a 32-bit version of Windows 7 or 8.1, you will receive the 32-bit version of Windows 10; similarly, a 64-bit version will upgrade to 64-bit Windows 10. To take advantage of the 64-bit upgrade, your hardware must support it.

Windows Xp users can't upgrade to the newest version of Windows Movie Maker (which is v2.6) because that particular version only supports Vista operating systems. The same goes with Windows Live Movie Maker... It only supports Vista.
There is probably no need to reinstall Windows after a processor upgrade, and the performance increase between the two said processors is probably not worth purchasing a newer version of Windows for.
Version 8.1 is windows live. Version 7 and previous ones were MSN Messenger.
