The dv7, dv6, and dv5 are series of laptop models produced by Hewlett-Packard (HP) under the Pavilion brand. Each series typically varies in size and specifications, with the dv7 being the largest, often featuring a 17-inch display, while the dv6 has a 15.6-inch screen and the dv5 is slightly smaller at 14 inches. These laptops are designed for multimedia use, combining performance and entertainment features suitable for general consumers. Over the years, various iterations within these series have been released, offering updates in hardware and design.
Depends on what you plan to use it for. In terms of sheer power, the dv7 is "better" than the dv6 because it has a newer processor (3rd gen i7 vs 2nd gen i5), and a better screen (1600x900 vs 1366x768). However, in terms of price efficiency, the older dv6 is "better" because its age has reduced its price by on average $100 compared to the dv7. The extra $100 is, in my opinion, not worth the slight improvement, because it will not be noticeable in every-day use.
Typically those models do not. "dv6" just means it's between 15.6"-16" screen. It depends. (This is assuming you mean the dv6 laptops) I got a dv6 just recently and it gave me the option to add a backlit keyboard. If you have it then try looking for a button on the top row of you keyboard in the upper right hand corner next to the delete button.
I have a dv5 1007tx and am having problems with the volume buttons. Did some googling and it seems to be commong. Argh, ITS ANNOYING ME!!!!

The DV5 camcorder is a product of Mitsuba. I am not familiar with this product so it is difficult for me to answer your question as to how good a product it is. It will depend on what kind of features you are looking for. Here is a link to some reviews of this product: http://www.retrevo.com/s/Mitsuba-DV5-Camcorders-review-manual/id/2831ag122/t/1-2/
No. You cannot install a new Intel motherboard made for the dv7-4000 series into an HP Pavilion dv7-4000 series notebook with an AMD Phenom II Quad core so that you can upgrade to an intel i7.
The HP DV6000 series will fit into a DV5, but your processor, if it is old enough, may not be supported on the newer board.
