read (shell builtin command)
The cat command in Linux accepts its input only from standard input (stdin) when used without any file arguments. It reads data from standard input until EOF (End of File) is reached, allowing users to type directly into the terminal or pipe data from other commands. This behavior makes it useful for quickly concatenating and displaying text data.
k is not a standard command in Linux.

There are two standards for high-quality named DVD-Audio (DVD-A) and Super Audio CD (SACD). Players for both types connect to a receiver via a 5.1 channel analog input. So these 7.1 analog inputs are mainly aimed to be compatible with players of those formats. If you want to transmit 7.1 digital channels to a receiver, you can do that over the HDMI input. You don't need a special audio-only input for that, which is why there is no digital 7.1 audio input standard. HDMI is effectively that standard.
dc is a reverse-polish desk calculator which supports unlimited precision arithmetic. It also allows you to define and call macros. Normally dc reads from the standard input; if any command arguments are given to it, they are filenames, and dc reads and executes the contents of the files before reading from standard input. All normal output is to standard output; all error output is to standard error.
Where do you find the external input channel on the tretech television remote?
The standard console input stream, std::cin.
A multiplexor is used to encode multiple input signals for transmission over a single channel. This works because the bandwidth of the output channel is higher than the bandwidth of the input signals, allowing the input signals to share the output channel. At the other end, a de-multiplexor decodes the channel and decodes the individual input signals.
