The Bluetooth standard incorporates Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH). AFH allows signals to "hop" around using different frequencies within the Bluetooth range, thereby reducing the chance of interference when multiple Bluetooth devices are present. AFH also allows the device to learn frequencies that are already in use and to choose a different subset of frequencies hopping.
I have a Dell laptop running Vista and it does have bluetooth as standard. Run a search for "bluetooth" and it will come up.

Bluetooth
The international standard used for communication between wireless devices is Bluetooth. Bluetooth can network two phones or even network one device to peripherals like keyboards, speakers and mice.
Blue in Bluetooth was named after Harald "Bluetooth" Gormsson. He was the 10th-century Danish king known for his efforts in uniting tribes at war. His dead tooth was found and said to be blue, which is where Bluetooth got its name. Radio with Bluetooth has a computer chip inside.
