The Rosetta stone is a large stone with text inscribed on it in both Greek and Egyptian. It was written by a group of Egyptian priests, to honor the pharaoh at the time and to retell all the good things he had done for the people. It is believed to have been written in 196 B.C. and wasn't discovered again until 1799.
