Okay so i got an axiom 61 MIDI controller and i want to record and my laptop just cant handle it. MY first question is should i build a computer to record or can i buy a reasonable computer for under 1000 dollars. I also would like to know any recommendations about michrophones to record with and software to record with, currently im using a fruity loops demo but idk if this is the way to go or not. music really are data, but you can turn them into Wave files on your hard drive by using a computer with a sound card and a sound recording program ie. audacity or sound recorder which comes with your computer and can be found under start-> all programs-> accessorys-> entertainment-> Sound Recorder
