To "paste without formatting" in Word strips the text you are pasting of all formatting. That means that it will be pasted in the default font and font size for Word, with no bolding, italics, underlining, font colours, highlighting, alternate fonts (apart from the default one for Word), font size, styles, etc that were present in the original text. It would appear exactly as if you were pasting it onto Notepad.
In Microsoft Word, the default typing mode uses 12-point type and the Times New Roman font. It is single-spaced with standard margins.
