The key when distinguishing these degrees is "Technology" (perhaps also stated as Engineering Technology) or "Engineering". Technology refers to a more applied degree and leads to becoming a tech basically (the guy who supposedly does more of the hands on work, "turns the bolts" so to speak). Engineering refers to a more prestigious degree that is also applied(to a somewhat lesser extent than the tech degree) but also heavily about design and includes more math & science (that the tech degree cuts out) because they need to understand aspects of electrical systems thoroughly at a deeper level.
