compresses and a small rubber nib or bump located up inside the dome is pushed

down onto the membranes, bringing them together and closing the contacts.

2. With linear switches, the operating force required to depress the key

increases in a linear fashion. Tactile keyswitches are designed to provide a

reduction in operating force at the contact make point. This gives the operator

a tactile feel as the key is depressed.
