There is no exact price. Each retailer has the choice to set the price at whatever they want. For Avid to force one price, they would be charged with price fixing, which is illegal.
Yes, as long as you are using full version of Pro Tools, version of 9 or newer.
Neither is as good as the full version, but from those two - Pro Tools MP9
Full version of Pro Tools works with just iLok
Full version.
Depends on the version of Pro Tools. It comes with basic plugins that will get you thru most mixing purposes.
Full native version of Pro Tools 9 and newer work with just iLok and without an interface.
Yes, the Control 24 will work with the Digi 003. It is supported as a controller in Pro Tools up to version 10. This will be the last version that supports this discontinued hardware.
You can purchase and download a copy at avid.com
You need to upgrade to regular version of Pro Tools and use it with an ilok if you want to use it without the microphone.
not to bash Logic(i'm a Logic Pro 9 user myself), but Pro Tools has been the industry standard for so long that this seems almost like a silly question (considering you are comparing Pro Tools to Logic EXPRESS, which is a slimmed down version of Logic ( or a scaled up version of garage band, however you want to look at it)) Its like comparing a geo to a Ferrari. Go with the Pro Tools 8 :D
Pro Tools 7 is not officially supported on Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6). Users may encounter compatibility issues, as Snow Leopard introduced changes that could affect the performance of older software. For optimal performance, it's recommended to use Pro Tools 7 with an earlier version of Mac OS, such as Leopard (10.5). If you need to run Pro Tools 7, consider using a compatible operating system or upgrading to a newer version of Pro Tools.
