Function
The F1 function opens the AutoCAD Help window. The F12 key Toggles Dynamic Input on and off when needing it.
Most keyboards have 12 function keys. F1-F12 (all the keys with the letter 'F' and then a number).
F1 shows the help in MS Excel. Infact, F1 key is for help in all application.
The function key 'F1' is universally accepted as the 'help' key.
Normally, pressing the F1 key will get help in most windows-based programs.

The F1 key brings up the help function under the dos and the windows operating system,
All of the function keys (F1, F2, F3, F4 and so on) don't really stand for anything, F1 just means "function key 1." However when you press the F1 key on a windows operating system it will usually pull up Help for the operating system or for the program that you are using. It means that you press the Ctrl key and holding it down, press the F1 key to perform a certain function on a personal computer and the function you perform depends on the context and the program running etc.
