There are at least five Charlestons in the US. The only one you would go through Jacksonville to get to is in South Carolina. It's not the fastest or shortest route, but if you're going that way, Sawdust FL is the halfway point. I was hoping it was Midway FL but either way, neither of those is much of a town. You may want to consider driving a little farther to Tallahassee.

It's not the shortest or fastest route but if you're going that way, the halfway point is on a lonely stretch of I-20 between Epes and Boligee. Since those aren't exactly household names, you might be better off stopping early at Meridian or pushing on to Tuscaloosa.
