It is a beautiful drive, and at some point, your odometer will register 222 miles and you won't have found a satisfactory or memorable location for an overnight stay. Of course if you are bound for Dayton with a population of less then 6.000 which was a watering hole for early California migrants you may have very low expectations. If you aren't driving a Winnebago and need to crash for a nap, most rest stops can accomodate you for a few hours. Consider an early departure and a straight through drive. On second thought, why leave Riverside. It is most hospitable, a small cultural icon, the home of th Dixie Cup, and March AFB.
