The bar at the bottom of the Desktop is called the Dock. (See links below)

There is no Apple menu. The home screen has a link to Settings, where you can change all the things the OSX Apple menu does.
The Apple Menu is located in the settings on the iPad. The iTunes store can be found in the preloaded apps.

The globe or bottom left menu in the Windows desktop is called the "Start Menu." It provides access to applications, settings, and files, and allows users to search for programs or documents. There is no Menu key on Apple keyboards.
To turn off an Apple computer click on the Apple menu icon (top left corner of screen) and select Shut Down... from the menu.
To log out of Messages on Apple, open the Messages app and go to "Messages" in the menu bar, then select "Preferences." Under the "iMessage" tab, click on "Sign Out" to log out of your Apple ID.
