In my humble opinion, plot devices involving time travel, two-way correspondence with somebody in another dimension or plane of existence ( UFO of existence might be more appropo) I am not referring to science-fiction devices as such but the type of plot device that was used in the two year ( or more) separation block ( for lack of a better word) in the movie The Lake House. It is never satisfactorily explained how the male character survives, maintains the two-way mail traffic, etc. I have spoken to several people who have seen the film and it remains a ( suspended Judgement) not of animation but Logic. Spock would concur!
