There are several hardware components which make up a PC.
Here's the basics:
A CPU/Processor
A power supply (nowadays 350W - 500W is the standard)
Memory (for temporary storage)
A Hard Drive (for perm storage)
A video card (Nvidia and ATI are favorite manufactures)
A motherboard which connects all the components together
A keyboard for input
and a screen (Output)
There are other components, such Network Cards and sound cards, and CD/DVD drives/writers as well.
For hard core gamers, some high-end mobos (motherboards) can use two video cards for increased performance.
Some people have actually built there own computers by buying the various components and found out they've saved money doing this !
Hope this helps :-)
Ram
A component located inside the computer chassis / case.
it protects the inside of the computer and outside
cable connectors fan power supply heat sink CPU
flat Stanley
the side of the computer case
That would be the motherboard. The processor is plugged into the motherboard, and the motherboard is mounted in the case.
flat case that holds computer componets or if you're trying to solve a certain crossword puzzle, try "Desktopcase". (AS3)
a fan
Motherboard/Mainboard
Hard drive
A computer fan is fitted inside a computer that checks that the temperature of the computer does not exceed a given point. With increase in temperature, certain circuitry in computer may melt down. So, to prevent this, the fan automatcally starts on sensing the high temperature and draws cooler air into the case from the outside, expel warm air from inside, or move air across a heat sink to cool a particular component.
