As of 3/14/2010, Intel's latest processors are the Core i series. The Core i series consists of the Core i3, Core i5, Core i7.
The Pentium 166mhz is a old socket 7 a very early Pentium prossessor,The Pentium 4 is modern form factor, much faster and more prossessor cach than the old chips.
The question you're asking, unfortunately, is not worded correctly. An Intel processor is a family of processor, where a quad-core processor is a type of processor. The Intel family includes many types of quad-core processors. However, to try and disambiguate what you're asking, an Intel core processor will be good, no matter what type it is. An Intel quad-core processor - for example, the Intel i7 - will perform fantastically well. The other main type of processor manufacturer - AMD - also have quad-core processors. However, a lot of it is down to opinion and machine build as to whether Intel is better than AMD, but personally, I believe Intel will out-perform and out-last an AMD processor.
"The Intel Xeon E7 is customized for each costumer , it is a core prossessor in wich you need a laptop or desktop to use. They are great for speeding up your computer but you need to download certain programs to use it correctly."
I hear that the latest computer processors and the best are made by Intel. The newest with some good reviews right now is the Intel Core I7 processors.
Obviously different companies, but besides that AMD processors mu go in motherboard that use an AMD socket and Intel processors must go into an Intel based socket. Intel processors seem to be a bit more expensive but Intel is on top with the newest technology. Many AMD "fans" would argue this.
prossessor
the newest hardware is developed by Intel, and is a processor, the most little processor,it's name is Atom
The CPU, or "Cental Processing Unit"
Dell Alienware M11x, M15x and M17x you left out the m18x
Only in certain macs. The newest version of the Mac Pro (a desktop) features multiprocessing functions with Intel Quad processor.
The most powerful processor is indeed made by Intel. AMD has done a great job of catching up though.
Leopard, 10.5 is the last OS you can use on a Power PC machine. 10.6, Snow Leopard is Intel only.
