The purpose of Norton's AntiVirus software is to help shield your computer from harmful viruses, malware, trojans, spyware and other malicious tools used to infiltrate your computer system. Various editions of this software are available depending on the depth of your needs.

Norton is a popular antivirus software manufactured by Symantec.
In my opinion based on 15 years of experiance, Nortons is the worst.
well i have and highly recommened nortons internet security hope this helps :)
norton is pretty solid but there are viruses that can and will slip under nortons eye. lime wire is like a hackers playground. i would just find another site.
The purpose of ClamWin AntiVirus is to protect you computer against virus attacts. ClamWin also has an integrated firewall to protect hackers from entering your computer.
Norton and pretty much all antivirus software give false positives at times. Now it is less common that it happens but people have to understand the enormity of the task. Your antivirus software is searching through millions of characters and thousands of files looking for code that performs a malicious act. That is the equivalent of a person scowering a whole city for one pin. It's a large task and antivirus software are doing things a person could never do.
My Choice is AVG

Since new viruses are coming out almost every day, it is a good practice to check for updates for your antivirus program. The update contains the signatures for recent viruses that have been analyzed by the antivirus firm.
I prefer nortons, especially the Norton Antivirus 2009. The reason is in the following:Norton AntiVirus 2009 provides fast, responsive defense against all types of malicious software including viruses, spyware, worms, and other software threats. It protects your system without slowing it down. Rapid pulse updates every 5 to 15 minutes help to ensure that you're protected from the latest threats. Working quickly and quietly in the background, Norton AntiVirus requires little memory and system resources. The new Norton Insight relies on extensive online intelligence to target only those processes at risk, resulting in faster, shorter, fewer scans. And the new Norton Protection System employs a multilayered set of security technologies that work in concert to detect, identify, and block attacks. Version 2009 improves on product performance. http://www.antivirusroot.com/Norton-AntiVirus-2009.html
