The purpose of a PS/2 port is to provide a connection for a keyboard or mouse to a personal computer.

On most computers, the PS/2 (Personal System/2) mouse port is located on the back, where the motherboard is located. The mouse's port is green while the keyboard's is purple.
Through USB or PS2 inputs which send the key commands of the keyboard to the motherboard. The motherboard sends the signals to the monitor, and you'll see what you are typing. The modern keyboards, specially on notebooks have a mouse integrated on them, which is commanded by touchs on its surface.
