Apparently is a common problem without universal solution. I have found couple reports where people were able able to make their printer to work by uninstalling current driver for the printer and then installing it again or updating to a newer versoin.

You need to enable "file and printer sharing" in the windows firewall settings, after that you have to share the printer. Check and write down/remember the computer ip address where the printer has been connected to. After that in your laptop/desktop Start->Run->//ip_address (for instance, \\192.168.11.3). When the window shows up double click on the printer, confirm to install the driver.
....this means that the printer wasn't installed correctly. In windows XP/2000, for a usb printer, you have to install the drivers first. Then, at the prompting of the software, you insert the usb cable so the OS can asign an enumerator to the device. The HP printers are the biggest problem in that they typicaly install alot of other software at the same time. You didn't include the OS or printer type in your question. These are important to know. Sometimes the PC must be rebooted after software/driver installation in order for the changes to take effect.
You cannot "uninstall" Windows. You need to format the hard drive and install Windows from scratch. You can do this by booting from the Windows CD (Windows 2000 in your case, I suppose) and following the steps onscreen. The reason that your internet did not work is probably that you neglected to install a driver for your network card or modem. Installing the driver should allow you to use the internet.

Install Windows XP mode on Windows 7. Connect your printer. At the taskbar at the top of the XP mode window, click on the USB tab. Select the Kyocera Fs-720 printer. If it asks you if you want to share, click yes. Your printer is now detected by the virtual xp machine. Download the XP Kyocera Fs-720 driver. Install it. Open the document you want to print in the XP mode and print. You cannot print from Windows 7. You have to do so via the xp mode. To print in the future, you will have to always click on the USB tab and share the printer. (This disconnects it from Windows 7 and connects it to the virtual XP mode machine).
To install window trim, measure and cut the trim to fit around the window, then nail or glue it in place. Sand and paint the trim for a finished look.
