That depends on what you mean by speed and what part of the system. If you are talking about speed in general on a computer its usually referred to as processor speed and it is in hertz usually megahertz or gigahertz depending on the actual CPU. For example i have a Pentium 4 dual core in my system and it has two processors that run at 3.00GHz or 3 gigahertz. So i guess the term your looking for would be hertz.

Hertz is a unit of frequency. 1 hertz= 1 cycle per second
