The machine used to send a Cablegram was traditionally a telegraph, although in the latter half of the 20th century, Telex machines were used to send cablegrams, which are essentially, telegrams sent exclusively by means of land and sea cables, such as the infamous Atlantic Telegraph Line that connected Great Britain to it's the North American Commonwealth realms of the Canadian Federation & Newfoundland.
