You can copy/cut and paste the contents of the active cell to another cell, which will then be the active cell.

Deselecting is removing the selection of a cell. So if a cell is selected and you click onto another cell, the first cell is no longer selected. The exceptions to this are when you have the Ctrl or Shift keys pressed when you click on another cell, or if you hold the mouse button and drag, in which case the original cell will stay selected and you can select more cells.
Home keys moves the current active cells to first column of current row.
Press Alt+Enter to add another line within a sincle cell. Type your first line, then press Alt+Enter to move to the second line. In the formula window you will see only the first line unless you use the up and down arrow keys. In the cell you will see both lines. If your lines do not wrap and show up in the cell, format the cell with Cell Wrap turned on.
