Dragging one app on top of another (hold down until they start to wiggle) will let you group apps into a 'folder'.
Right click on the shortcut, change it's name. Right click on the shortcut, select properties, and change what the icon looks like.
Drag any app on top of another then it creates a folder.
For PC: Go to Start>All programs. Right click on the Google Chrome application, and click create shortcut. For MAC: You can add it to your dock by going into your applications folder, and dragging it to the dock. To create a desktop shortcut instead, Go to the applications folder, right click on the Google Chrome application, and click "make alias". Then drag the alias to the desktop. WARNING: Do not drag the application right to the desktop. This will create a duplicate rather than a shortcut (alias)

After you download it, go to your downloads folder, and then drag it on to your desktop. You should now have a shortcut.
Right click on the document/folder etc. you want to create a shortcut from. Then, on the drop down menu, click "create shortcut" and you will have a shortcut. or if you want a keyboard shortcut right click, properties, advanced, shortcut.
Where you drag from one folder to another on the same drive, Windows interprets this as a CUT/PASTE command and moves the file from one folder to the other. Where you drag a file to a folder on another drive, Windows interprets this as a COPY/PASTE command and creates a duplicate of the file in the target folder.
A shortcut is a link, displayed the same as a file or folder, which, when you click on, takes you to a specified page or file in a different location.
