personally I believe anything that is marked with mystery and intrigue, as well as controversy and plagued by stigma and discrimination is appealing for Hollywood. looking at history and the various ways in which it has played a part in socializing and introducing 'taboo' subjects to America, such as feminism, child abuse (particularly sexual), homosexuality, fetishisms of all sorts, and even racism, there tends to be a pattern in where the *affliction* is first treated as somewhat gross or feared or a source of extreme anger, then comes a stage of educating more about the subject, and lastly either a flood of acceptance or an enlightened sense of stigma. wether or not the subject at hand is accepted or treated with further prejudism usually deends somewhat on what and where the religious right (often seen as the polar opposite of Hollywood) tends to fall on either embracing or rejecting the notion. these are just a few thoughts. zfawnz
Corporate identity branding is somewhat of a makers seal. When people see the logo they know who and what it is. Usually companies who have brands have a ton of marketing schemes. The idea is to make sure everyone knows who you are. It is a popularity contest.
