l948 following the abdication of her Mother, Wilhelmina, on health grounds.
Mary, Queen of Scots, reigned as queen of Scotland for 25 years, from December 14, 1542, until her forced abdication on July 24, 1567. Her reign was marked by political turmoil and conflict, both within Scotland and with England. After her abdication, she sought refuge in England, where she was imprisoned for 19 years before her execution in 1587.
She was the Queen Regent of the Kingdom of the Netherlands from 23 November 1890 to her abdication on 4 September 1948 from which her daughter Juliana took over
There is no evidence to suggest she wasn't a true queen. She was forced to abdicate in order for her son James VI to take the throne so she wasn't queen after abdication (by definition).
