Tapes used in VCRs are known as VHS tapes. Most VCR's have a function that allows one to rewind the tape when one is finished watching the tape. If this feature is not available, a tape can be manually rewound by using a flat head screwdriver.
A DVD is better than a videotape because you never have to rewind.Have you seen the movie, Be Kind Don't Rewind.Rewind by William Sleator is a science fiction book.
Back in the days of VHS tapes, "Be Kind, Rewind" was a phrase commonly used by video rental stores to remind customers to rewind the tape after they had finished watching it. This would leave the tape ready to watch for the next customer.
The word that means to scroll back a cassette videotape is "rewind." This term is commonly used to describe the action of reversing the tape to return to an earlier point in the recording. Rewinding can be done manually or automatically, depending on the device being used.

A legacy device is an old device that is not normally used now, but someone may still have them for occasional use. Most data is now stored on disks, but rarely on tape. However some data is stored on tape and old tape readers can be used to read that. Those tape machines could be described as legacy devices.

RAM (Random Access Memory) is not a secondary storage device; it is a type of primary storage, or volatile memory, used for temporarily holding data that the CPU needs while executing programs. In contrast, magnetic tape is a secondary storage device used for long-term data storage. Unlike RAM, magnetic tape retains data even when the power is turned off.
Rewind means to move backwards. It comes from the times when lots of media used to be on tape spools of some kind... either reel-to-reel, cassette tapes, or videocassettes. Winding was moving forward (putting the tape on one reel), and rewinding was moving backwards (putting the tape back on the original reel so you could start again). Even though we switched to "Play" for the forward movement, in order to get back to the beginning, you still had to move the reel backwards, or "rewind." So, now, even though it doesn't still work that way, we still refer to moving a movie or other media backwards by using the word "rewind."

Strapping tape is a popular type of tape that athletes use. It is used for athletes to tape their wrists in order to prevent injury. The tape limits the movement of the joint and protects it from injury.
