LCD's are made up of lines that project an image on the screen. These lines constantly move, sometimes up and down, and sometimes side to side...this causes a flicker often seen on older LCD monitor's.
A monitor may flicker due to a poor cable connection. Other causes include electrical noises and over-sized speakers near the monitor.
AnswerI dropped my HP laptop and broke the factory screen. I plugged the computer in to an external monitor and it checked good functionally. I ordered and replaced the LCD screen only to be annoyed by an intermittent flicker of the new screen. It took a while to figure it out but I solved the problem. I have the HP G71-340US Notebook (17" screen). Once dissassembled the screen has a rail assembly on both the right and left side that it mounts to. There are 4 screw holes on each rail but the computer only comes with 2 screws on each rail mounting to the screen. My mistake was that I installed the top 2 screws in the top holes and the bottom 2 screws in the holes DIRECTLY ABOVE the bottom holes. There is a wiring strip that runs along the bottom of the screen and if it touches the housing it will cause interference/flicker. All I did was remove the two bottom screws and install them in the very BOTTOM holes to lift the screen off of the screen housing. No more flicker! Makes me wonder if maybe some of the laptops off of the shelves might need to be checked. A lot of issues about HP and flickering screens on google. Hope this helps.
did you put a magnet on it? usually that is the cause no
My monitor flickered, informed me to check connection, and then went black. If you unplug the monitor from the computer and it goes black then it's not the computer or malware....it's the monitor going out. I bought a new monitor and everything is working fine again.
Monitor flicker may be caused by loose cables or connectors, refresh rate settings that are incompatible with the monitor, and issues with the monitor's power supply. Other potential causes include electromagnetic interference from nearby electronic devices or a malfunctioning graphics card.
That is cause by the speed of the camera recording and the refresh rate of the monitor or TV screen.
No it causes the black screen of death
Yes, a faulty light switch can cause lights to flicker or not turn on properly.
if your moniter gets to hot the screen will distort and it will cause irreversible damage to the hardware inside
There are many possible causes of the black screen of death in an HP Compaq NC6400. One likely cause of this issue would include a failed display driver.
Fluorescent lights flicker because they rely on a ballast to regulate the flow of electricity. If the ballast is faulty or the light bulb is reaching the end of its lifespan, it can cause the light to flicker.
You have a defective driver board for that section of the screen. It'll have to be replaced. Hope you have the extended warranty `cause it'll be expensive.
