A good graphics care for a media center PC is the EVGA 01G-P3-N945-LR GeForce 9400 GT 1GB DDR2 PCI-E 2.0 Graphics Card.
There are a wide range of graphics cards suited for media center pcs, but a GeForce 7900GT or an ATI Radeon HD 3650 would be good base cards that will run reliably while not being overly expensive.
Yes, you can upgrade the graphics card on an HP Pavilion Media Center M7470n, provided that the system has a compatible PCI Express x16 slot. To do so, first, power down the computer and unplug it. Open the case by removing the side panel, then locate the existing graphics card, if any, and unscrew it from the bracket. Carefully remove it from the slot and insert the new graphics card, securing it in place and reassembling the case before reconnecting power and booting the system. Make sure to install the appropriate drivers for the new graphics card afterward.

These days, all computers need a graphics card. The 5550 graphics card is available for purchase from computer parts and supply stores Micro Center and New Egg, as well as Amazon, and even some Walmarts.
There is no way to extend your screen with an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150. The graphics card is simply unable to extend the screen between 2 monitors. I did some research to see if you could, and the graphics card is just incapable of preforming the job. I did find a program that will do this with windows 7 starter, but it cannot with this type of graphics card. ( I have an ASUS Eee PC 1015 PE net book with this graphics card and windows 7 starter.) This problem also doesn't work on Home Premium or any other version of windows (Including Xp) if you have this type of graphics card.
