The #NAME? error indicates the formula references something that Excel does not recognise. It could be the name of function that does exist, which often happens when the user spells the name of a function incorrectly. It could be a cell reference that does not exist. It could be looking for a defined name for a cell or a range that does not exist.
As you type, Excel displays the entry in the FORMULA BAR, and also displays the active cell reference int he Name box on the left.
The Name box.
The name box displays the name or cell reference of the active cell.

I am not aware of a name menu in Excel. However, Excel has a name box that displays the name or cell reference of the active cell.

It displays what is called the Cell Contents. The Cell Contents are what was originally typed into the cell. If that is only a value, then it displays the value. If it is a formula, then you will see the formula that was entered. In the cell itself you will normally see the result of that formula, unless the worksheet has been set to show the formulas. It displays what is called the Cell Contents. There is always one active cell. Its address will be displayed in the Name box, or the name of a named cell or named range. If a named range is selected, there is still only one active cell, but the name of the range will be shown in preference to the active cell's address.
The cell address (or name) window is above the worksheet (usually below the menu bar). When you click on a cell, you will see either the cell address (e.g. A3) or cell name (e.g. Total; if you assigned a cell name).
It is not possible to do that.
The cell reference area below the ribbon is called the Name Box in Excel. It displays the address or name of the currently selected cell in the worksheet. It can also be used to navigate to specific cells by typing in the cell reference directly.
