Press the power button on your PC to wake it up
its the key with the moon on it
You can try. Depending on the type of computer, it may or may not be ok. If it is a computer with an external keyboard, the keyboard can just be replaced (or possibly even just dried).
You could press the power key on the computer or Click the mouse a few times or Press some buttons on the keyboard. Most graphics tablets won't wake computers. Sometimes moving the mouse will wake the computer.
The quarter moon symbol on the right side of your keyboard likely indicates the sleep mode key. Pressing this key may put your computer into a sleep state, conserving power while allowing you to quickly resume your work when needed.
maybe your mouse is moving, or is thinking it's moving, so it thinks you're trying to wake up the computer
If you keyboard is unable to pick up its signal, trying unplugging it off and replugging it.
Sleep puts the machine in a low power state, suspends it (RAM is still on, HDD is off) Wake up literally wakes it back up.
This signals that the computer is in a standby or "sleep" mode. Most parts of the hardware are turned off by the BIOS until a key on the keyboard is pressed or the mouse is moved.
If it is stuck in sleep mode just restart the computer by pressing the power button for 5-10 seconds. Then when the computer starts up make sure to go to your power options in control panel and disable all the sleep options. This wont fix the sleep problem but will prevent your computer from going into sleep in the first place. Commonly sleep issues occur when there is a program running that doesn't agree with being put in sleep mode and causes windows to crash.
To put the system to sleep, click on Start then click the little > arrow next to where it says 'Shut down' - and select 'Sleep'. That puts the computer into sleep mode. All it does, is put the computer into a 'low-power state' - by switching off the display, and powering-down the hard drive. It keeps power going to the motherboard, which monitors the keyboard and mouse. If it detects either a key-press or movement from the mouse, it wakes the computer up, and (if set) prompts for the user password.
Most keyboards with special function keys such as Sleep and Volume require custom drivers to function. Please contact your keyboard manufacturer to obtain these drivers.
You are responsible for your own equipment. If your animals make a habit of 'jumping on your keyboard' - simply get into the routine of putting the computer into sleep modeevery time you leave it unattended. We supervisors have no way of knowing if your animals are responsible for posting nonsense answers - If an answer is flagged, we act on the reason. If that means you get warned - then you need to do something to lock your computer if you're away from the keyboard !
