Technically it already came out and was briefly for sale for a few weeks, however the R3 line was pulled due to a problem with the motherboards in them. An Intel flaw in the motherboard would lead to the connections to devices like DVD drives and hard drives to degrade over time ( normally about 3 years ). Intel issued a recall and the R3 was pulled off Alienware's page, along with the other computers who were using that Sandy Bridge set up.

However expect to see the R3 back for sale probably mid march or early April when Intel says the replacement motherboards should be back at full inventory. They are trying to get out the replacements by late Feb, but most of those are gonna go to people who have already bought the machines with the flawed motherboards.
