RAID is implemented using a RAID controller on the motherboard or on a RAID controller card. RAID is enabled in the BIOS.
It depends on which RAID you mean: software or hardware. For hardware RAID read manual for your motherboard, for software RAID read software help.
A group of hard drives assembled into a RAID array is often referred to as, well, a "RAID array" a "RAID stack" or a "RAID cluster."
Hardware will be RAID PCIe / PCIx RAID hardware controller but The hardware RAID is often the motherboard RAID controller or a separate RAID card.
Check with your motherboard manual (if it has onboard RAID), or check with your RAID controller's manual to see if it supports setting up single drives and not having a raid configuration.
False
Reducing access and read time. Providing redundancy.
RAID stands for a redundant array of independent disks. Thus, a group of two or more hard disks comprise a RAID, or array of physically separate drives.
A RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) driver is used to enable a computer to utilize RAID, which could either improve hard drive performance or allow mirrors of pertinent data.
Quality of the chipsets, amount of ports, bus speeds, limits of memory CPU speed. Kinds of ports. Optional things like raid, firewire etc.
under bios setup>advanced tab> select configure SATA> selct RAID from the menue A+ 5th edition
All hard drives in an array should be identical in brand, size, speed, and other features. Also, if Windows is to be installed on a hard drive that is part of a RAID array, RAID must be implented before windoes is installed. As with installing any hardware, read the documentation that comes with the motherboard or RAID controller.
You hardware has to support RAID technology, read the manual for your motherboard. If you have Linux you can have software RAID which is slower than hardware but still can be used to for mirroring, striping and so on. In the manual should described how to create RIAD (0, 1 and so on). You can have RAID software for windows too, but it's expensive and perfomance is not that great.
