Word wrap
When the text you're typing gets to the end of the line, the cursor wraps to the next line. It places the text below on the page instead of allowing the words to continue on beyond the right margin.

The feature you are referring to is called "word wrap." It automatically moves text to the next line when it reaches the end of a line without deleting the original content. This helps to maintain the formatting and readability of the text.

When the cursor moves over text, it looks like an X, with a small line through the middle.
If the machine automatically starts a new line when it gets to the right edge, it is called "wrapping the text", or the text wraps to the next line. If it does not wrap, then you will have one very long line.

write() will just be a line of text and writeln() will be a line of text that puts the next writeln() on another line
