Bright, like all laser. It is about as bright as a low power laser pointer. It is usually a class one laser and can not hurt you, but make sure you check it's class before opening the printer, though I would not suggest opening it in the first place.

It's when you see the Moon in daylight with a bright blue sky. The dark areas (the maria) on the Moon can look similar to the colour of the sky and give the impression of a partly transparent Moon.

A human eyelid is not transparent of course. But some animals like snakes have permanently sealed transparent eyelids which protect their eyes from foreign materials. Frogs also have transparent eyelids to protect its eyes while swimming in water.
