When the computer is switched on, press both Ctrl keys briefly one after the other and the Shift keys briefly one after another. This sometimes happens on my laptop and it is caused by the keys getting stuck for one reason or another.
Hit on the esc (upper left) key several times. when everything else failed reboot your computer.
There is no 'single clicking' like 'single clicking' with a computer mouse. Every touch you make opens or selects an item on the screen, like 'double clicking' on an older computer.
HTC evo 4g can be rebooted by long Pressing the POWER button, and then tapping the Restart option on the screen.

Now that mice are used on computers to select various things on screen :- One click / left button mouse click selects a word Two clicks selects a sentence Three clicks selects a paragraph Windows and Linux people use the left mouse button on the mose. Macintosh people use the top of the mouse to do the same thing.
If it is in working condition and everything is hooked up right, it should take no more then just a few seconds.
Your screen resolution is probably messed up.

It's only a touch screen for dialing. Everything else is NOT touch screen.
