In the OSI model, a hub operates at Layer 1, which is the Physical Layer. This layer is responsible for the transmission and reception of raw bitstreams over a physical medium. Hubs serve as basic networking devices that connect multiple Ethernet devices, allowing them to communicate by broadcasting incoming data packets to all connected devices. However, they do not filter or manage traffic, making them less efficient than more advanced devices like switches.

No. Hub works only on first layer. On second layer only swithc/bridge works on second layer of OSI model.
The OSI model is a general model for networking . It has seven layer in total and each layer have some responsibilities. The layer that determines the communication mode is physical layer.
First layer of the OSI model covers the cabling and electrical signaling. The first layer of OSI model is the physical layer. The physical layer also decides the transmission mode and physical media.

I was told that soon as you plug in the USB DMX hub it goes to USB mode. I am not sure as I have not tried it yet but that is what I was told in the Forums.
Switch work's full-duplex mode, but HUB work's on Half-duplex mode. each port of switch is a different collision-domain, but HUB is single collision-domain.
