Well, the c drive is usually the first hard disk drive (hard drive for short) in your computer, with d, e, and f being additional hard drives, or at least spaces that if used all at once would lead to an f drive. As for the a and b drives, they are reserved for floppy disk drives, or floppies for short. The C drive is what came with your computer. It is the default drive where all of your system info, & programs. The D drive could be a "partition" which is still on the C drive, but set up as a separate drive. The CD-ROM is usually labeled as the D drive. The F drive could be a memory stick(or other storage media)

that is in a USB port. Drives D, E, F, G, and so on could also be additional hard drives that have been installed on your computer.
