Located underneath the intake manifold. It is threaded into the underside. It senses the temperature of incoming air for combustion. It has really small wires that come directly off of it. Not to be confused with knock sensor wires, which are a little thicker and located under lower intake manifold.

Located in the air intake tube beside the battery.
It is the intake air temperature sensor , and it,s located in the air intake boot.
Intake Air Temperature Sensor. Located in the plastic air intake tube beside the battery.
Yes, there is an intake air temperature (IAT) sensor in a 99 coug. The IAT is located by the mass air flow sensor between the air fliter and the intake manifold.
A 95 did not have IAT sensor
The IAT sensor on a 2000 Mercury Cougar V6 is on the back side of the filter box. On the Zetec model it is either on the Air box like the V6, or on the intake tubing running from the box to the Throttle Body.
The IAT sensor is located in the intake manifold
The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor is incorporated into the Mass Airflow sensor. You cannot service the IAT sensor alone, you must actually service the Mass Airflow sensor instead. The Mass Airflow Sensor is located at the corner of the air filter housing where it meets the air intake duct.

iat sensor? Please describe this device, never heard of iat sensor. Post again
it's located on the firewall right in back of the intake
It doesn't have an intake air temperature (IAT) sensor.
