Answer is very simple and it is very clear that Intel core 2 duo vs Intel dual core any more similar. The similarity of names makes even many computer geeks confused when asked to do a comparison of Intel core 2 duo and Intel dual core.

i have both of those in two separate pcs with the exact same specs and motherboards and the core2duo runs faster and more smoothly than a dual core. the reason why a dual core runs slower was becauseit was the first release dual core CPU. core2duo was a second and much better version with better strain copacity and multitasking is a sinch for it.

The actual best processor if you think about performance is the Intel Core i7 Extreme and using two at the same time would be even better but have a great cooler so they don't melt or damage other computer parts.

The above is correct-- in most scenarios. There are instances where different processors beat out the i7 extreme in some tests. As for the answer to the actual question, the Core 2 Duo is far superior to the legacy Intel Dual Core processors.

Core 2 duo is better, however a Pentium dual core is the same as a core 2 duo, but it didn't make manufacturing specs or has reduced memory on the CPU. Generally a dual core is a "less powerfull CPU" so the Core 2 will be greatly better.

Choose a Core 2 Duo. They'll be faster for browsing, intensive work or video editing. The reason is the Celeron is like a "neutered" Core 2 Duo. Mostly the same, but its slower brother.

The Core 2 Duo is much better than the Celeron. The Celeron will be slow, especially if you want to play games and upload photos.
