A beta version of software is the final testing phase before the actual full version of the software is released.
A software that's not ready. It's been testing to find problems
In software developing, a beta version usually refers to a version of the software released to a small subset of the general public for testing. During this phase, beta testers will use the software and record any bugs or abnormalities which will then be corrected before the software is made fully available for public use.
Beta is usually used in terms for Beta testing before the full release candidate, it could go from Beta to RC before a full release is made. so basically beta = After an initial round of in-house testing, software publishers often release new programs to be tested by the public. These pre-release versions are called beta software
You must mean Beta Software. Beta Software is pre-release software still in the process of development made available to "beta-testers" for the purpose of identifying problems in the application. Because of the nature of beta software, running such software could potentially cause system-wide problems.
Beta testing is the best chance to find bugs and usability issues before a product is fully released. It is necessary as it evaluates the level of customer satisfaction and verifies readiness to release or deploy a new product, feature, or improvement.
A beta user, or beta tester, is somebody who tries out a software that has not yet been officially released. This allows the user to get a preview of what the software is going to be like; the advantage for the software company is that the beta users can give feedback on problems.
A software beta test is a test release of the software. Normally beta testers then take the software and test it out and report any bugs in the software. A few more tests down the road is called a Release Candidate then after those there is the final version.
The beta version of a software release is considered to be a preview. It has all the standard features, but is not yet ready for wide release or sale. During this point, the company will collect feedback from users about the product's usability - what they like and what should be changed - before the product's wide release. A beta version of a program can be either a closed beta, which is limited to a specific group of users, or an open beta, which is available for the general public to use.
beta
By testing beta software, and reporting any bugs/issues to the manufacturer.
If the beta update is for a video game, then it is a patch for the gameplay that fixes any glitches the developers find in the game, because it is a beta testing game. If it is a beta update for a software, then you must have a new software still in development which is being patched like a video game beta would.
