ASUS P8Z77-V Lk ATX LGA1155 Z77 DDR3 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 3PCI SATA3 SLI DVI HDMI DP USB3.0 Motherboard (for an intel processor)
Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 AMD 990X AM3+ ATX DDR3 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI SLI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard (for most AMD processors)
PCI and PCI-E are the expansion slots
if you don't like these ones and you go out and look for one on your motherboard now next to your processor look for a label (mine says AM3+) so then you know what kind of slot to look for when you are buying your own. Hope this helps
To get the Cataclysm expansion, simply upgrade your account. Note: To get the Cataclysm expansion, you must first upgrade to Wrath of the Lich King expansion, then upgrade to the Cataclysm expansion.
Most motherboards only support a specific subset of CPU's. If you change your CPU you MAY need to replace the motherboard... but if you do that it will include the appropriate BIOS. You may also need to re-install the Operating System.
upgrade, exchange components and add devices
According to the website, C2D is not supported. http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d945gnt/sb/CS-026630.htm
Not much. Motherboards are tightly integrated, and you can't really upgrade the built-in components; that's what expansion slots are for. If you possess sufficient soldering skills, you may be able to replace bad components like capacitors.
No. There is no possible upgrade for a computer with a 120 MHz Pentium to an 800 MHz processor. You couldn't even replace the motherboard, as the case would not support newer motherboards (AT/Baby AT vs. ATX/microATX)
You can upgrade Alienware desktops because of its many expansion slots.
buy The Burning Crusade Expansion Package,The Wrath of the Lich King Expansion,...
You will no longer have to upgrade an account that has Mists of Pandaria attached to it, until Blizzard makes a new expansion. Then you will have to upgrade the account to that expansion.
definitely not laptops! desktops got the upper hand when it comes to upgrading. just look for a motherboard with pci express support. pci express allow fast and easy upgrades.most modern day motherboards support pci.for more information about pci:http://www.howstuffworks.com/pci-express.htm
The CPU can be upgraded only if your motherboard/chipset and BIOS support it. Socket 478 motherboards cannot support a Dual-Core, as they use a different socket. If you have an LGA775 motherboard, it may work, but chipsets before 945 are not officially supported and may fail to function properly.
