byte ptr is an assembler directive that says the following operand is an address of a byte.
The ethernet frame carries the IP (Internet Protocol) The Ethernet frame is made up of the following: 7 BYTE PREAMBLE 1 Byte "Start OF Frame" delimiter 6 byte destination address 6 byte source address 2 byte length or type 46 - 1500 bytes variable 802.2 or ethernet header and data 4 byte Frame Check sequence
The 8085 instruction set is classified into the following three groups according to word size: 1. One-word or 1-byte instructions 2. Two-word or 2-byte instructions 3. Three-word or 3-byte instructions
I believe you meant difference between a bit and a byte. A byte is 8 bits.
There are two nibbles in a byte.
Eight bits are in one byte
1024 amos byte = 1 pectrol byte
Byte, since there are 8 bits in every byte
1 byte.. (1 cell)

The following extract is from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte (under History heading). The term "byte" comes from "bite," as in the smallest amount of data a computer could "bite" at once. The spelling change not only reduced the chance of a "bite" being mistaken for a "bit," but also was consistent with the penchant of early computer scientists to make up words and change spellings. A byte was also often referred to as "an 8-bit byte", reinforcing the notion that it was a tuple of n bits, and that other sizes were possible.
