If you are talking about background, go to 'page layout' menu and select 'background'. On newer versions it is in the Page Background group in the Design tab on the Ribbon.

First go to the Page Layout tab in your ribbon. Next, in the Page Background box, should be a button that says Page Color. Click it. A pop up box should appear. Click the Picture Tab. It should be simple from there.

You can use the key command CTRL+ENTER to start a new page in the same document in Microsoft Word. You must press control and enter at the same time. Hold down the control key and then press enter. If you want to start a whole new document (and thus a new page), go to File in the menu and choose New.
