Recycle BinExample: "If you want to delete items in Windows, drag them to the Recycle Bin." The Recycle Bin in used by Windows computers to store deleted items. It temporarily stores files and folders before they are permanently deleted. You can open the Recycle Bin by double-clicking the icon on the Windows desktop. The Recycle Bin window allows you to delete items individually or restore them to their original location. If you want to permanently remove all items in the Recycle Bin, select "Empty the Recycle Bin" in the left sidebar of the window.

The Recycle Bin location is hidden at the root, e.g., "C:\$Recycle.Bin". There are two Recycle Bins in $Recycle.Bin, because the desktop shortcut's icon changes when it's full or empty. It gets more complicated. The two Recycle Bins in $Recycle.Bin are also shortcuts. The actual location of the Recycle Bin is in another hidden folder, also at the system root, called RECYCLER.
Check the Recycle Bin they go there first before they are deleted permanently. If it is there then you can restore it.
In Windows, normally deleted files are not yet deleted. They are instead shown in the Recycle Bin, which allows users to undelete items before they are permanently lost.
