Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs founded NeXT computers in 1985 after his forced resignation from Apple. In 1986 Jobs bought The Graphics Group (later renamed Pixar) from Lucasfilm. In 1996, Apple announced that it would buy NeXT for $429 million and with the purchase Jobs returned to Apple.

Pixar originally partnered with Disney and is now part of the Disney group. Pixar has a video partnership with Apple through iTunes. Recently Pixar's videos are streamed through a partnership with Netflix.

The Walt Disney Company. On January 24, 2006, Pixar entered into an agreement with The Walt Disney Company to merge the two companies. The deal was approved by shareholders of both companies and the merger became effective on May 5, 2006. Pixar is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company.
Pixar Animation Studios, or simply Pixar is a computer animation film studio based in Emeryville, California. Pixar began in 1979 as the Graphics Group, part of the computer division of Lucasfilm before its spin-out as a corporation in 1986 with funding by Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Jobs, who became its majority shareholder. The Walt Disney Company bought Pixar in 2006 at a valuation of $7.4 billion, a transaction which made Jobs Disney's largest shareholder.
