He sold the patent to Remington. rather than future-shock phase-out, when these computers came along they appropriated the traditional keyboard- minimizing retraining problems, as the asdfjkl; board is standardized. Mr. Sholes also designed what is essentially the keyboard QWERT or ASDF-JKL; still in use!
