You did not put your Ethernet cable in the LAN port on the router.
People use such cables for LAN connection
To use a LAN cable for your PS4, first connect one end of the cable to the LAN port on the back of the PS4 and the other end to an available port on your router or modem. Once connected, turn on your PS4 and navigate to "Settings," then select "Network." Choose "Set Up Internet Connection," select "Use a LAN Cable," and follow the prompts to complete the setup. This wired connection can provide a more stable and faster internet connection compared to Wi-Fi.

In a LAN cable tester, the letter "G" typically stands for "Ground." This indicates the grounding connection in the cable being tested, which is essential for ensuring proper electrical safety and signal integrity. A successful test of the ground connection helps verify that the cable is functioning correctly and can help prevent issues related to electrical interference or faults.
A Cable/DSL gateway is a network gateway. It is used to establish a connection between DSL and Cable TV to a computer network by physical means, such as through LAN or a wireless network.
It depends under which context you intend to create a Lan connection. If you want to have a "Lan party" where you and a bunch of friend all play the same game, then there is no definite answer. You will have to Google "Lan connection <insert game name>". If you are talking about Lan in just a general, networking, like connecting to internet sense, then you need a router and an Ethernet cable. You then connect the Ethernet cable to the router and then to your computer. Or you can set up a Wi-Fi connection with your router. Your question is far too vague, so I cannot give a more straightforward answer. If you would like, you can contact me directly at JasonTheSager@live.com
If you mean switching LAN cables when the connection is active, then the answer is yes.

A WiFi network and a LAN network differ from each other. The biggest difference is that a WiFi network is run through a wireless connection., whereas a LAN network is run through cable.
