The picture is slightly better in some circumstances because the S-Video separates the brightness and color signal from the source on two conductors in the cable. The resolution is the same, and does not effect the audio quality.
If your TV has only S-Video or composite connectors, you may notice no difference in the quality of the picture. The big steps in quality upgrade come when you use a component video or HDMI cable.
Composite video out has better performance than S-Video.
S-video is better than the composite video when output to a television
Composite RCA will be better than a coaxial cable (RG6). The order of quality and maximum resolution from best to worst is: HDMI (including HDMI 1.4 3D) DVI Component Video S-Video Composite Coaxial cable
RCA connectors can be used for both composite (1 connector) video and component (3 connector) video. The quality order is: BASIC - Composite (1 RCA wire, Yellow) BETTER - S-Video (1 wire, usually black) BEST - Component (3 RCA wires, Red, Green Blue) Composite can only send standard definition video, up to 480i. S-Video can only send standard definition video, up to 480i. Component can send video up to 1080i High Definition.
Within the video industry, an AV port is any connection that carries audio and video signals, either into or out of video equipment. Such ports take a number of forms depending on the signal format being carried such as: Composite video and audio on three RCA or phono connectors Scart connectors, found on European equipment for composite or RGB signals Component and audio on 5 RCA connectors BNC connectors carrying SDI (studio based rather than domestic) HDMI for digital video and audio Connectors such as VGA and DVI are also included although they are strictly only video ports.
An RCA cable with composite video is better than standard definition cable. An RCA cable set (3 cables) can also carry a component video signal, which can be Hugh definition up to 1080p. Cable television can also carry a high definition signal if you have a HD cable box or a TV with a digital tuner. For connecting a VCR, an RCA composite video cable will give a better picture than the RF antenna cable.
S probably stands for S-video. It is a video signal that uses two separate wires - one to carry the brightness information and the other to carry color information. It offers better quality than composite signals because the brightness information carries more detail in an S-video signal than is possible with a composite. Composite signals are normally connected with an RCA (phono) jack or a BNC. S-video is identified by a 4 pin mini-din connector, two phonos or two BNCs.
S-Video is a video signal format. It uses two separate signals, one for brightness and one for color information. It provides a better quality than composite video although not as good as component video. The connector is normally a 4 pin mini DIN plug.
Yes. HDTV signal can be used through HDMI, use the Component connections (not to be confused with composite) if your set has it, if not, then s-video and video would all be better than Coaxial cable.
Composite shims break off easier and cleaner than plain wood.
It is better for bounce and it seals in air better than standard leather.
Not really but it does have 2 ports.
