Why does my PC desktop go blank?

This could be due to a number of reasons.

1. Your power supply became unplugged or battery life died. Check to make sure it is plugged into an outlet and the battery still has about 20% left.

2. DVI or VGI cable came loose from the monitor. This would stop the monitor's functioning.

3. You bumped one of the F keys on the top of your keyboard that may of disabled your display.

The most obvious cause of this is that the power settings on your computer are set to shut off your monitor after a given number of idle minutes. If you right mouse click on your desktop and click properties then select the Screen Saver tab and click the Power button. Change the Turn Monitor Off to a better greater time period.
